Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford is aiming for consistency with his performances after bagging the Premier League Player of the Month award for January. The England international has witnessed a change in fortunes since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took temporary charge of the club in December and during this period, he has amassed six goals from just eight league matches.
He said: “It’s always good to pick up individual awards but I think the way we’ve performed as a team has been very good over the last few weeks. The aim for us now is to just continue it, but we have to take it game by game and one step at a time. I think the consistency. I’ve always said that’s the difference between the best players in the world and good players. In football, the fact that you can repeat it time and time again, season upon season, is the big difference between the two categories of players.”
Rashford and Paul Pogba have been among the improved players for the Mancunian giants over the past 45 days and this has enhanced their prospects of breaking into the Champions League positions. At one stage, the club were 11 points off fourth-placed Chelsea under ex-boss Jose Mourinho but the Portuguese’s sacking has produced a positive influence with a ten-match unbeaten run which sees them within two points off the west London giants. United will be hoping to continue the streak when they face struggling Fulham on the road this weekend.
