CARRICK BACK TRAINING

Michael Carrick is back training with the main squad of Manchester United after successfully undergoing an operation on his Achilles heel. The 32 years old midfielder is still expected to be out from the playing grounds for another 5 weeks but his recovery is going just as planned which is good news for the played that has recently agreed a new contract extension with the Old Trafford club.

His light training is increasing the speed of his recovery as he has the chance to play with some of his teammates and catch up with how the squad is doing.

GETTING BETTER

West Ham United youngster Ravel Morrison has been looking in sparkling form in recent months for the club. He has become a changed man after the loan spell at Birmingham city last season.

He came from Manchester United with the reputation as a bad boy, but even Sir Alex Ferguson said that he is the best talent he has ever seen at this age. This is quite high praise from the manager, who has won more than 40 trophies with Manchester United in the last 25 years. Yet, Morrison was unable to overcome his disciplinary problems and stay at United.

MOYES CHASES MIDFIELDERS

After taking over at Manchester United, David Moyes has been linked with moves for the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Thiago Alcantara. The club also made an official offer for Everton defender Leighton Baines as well.

Despite winning the league last season, it is maintained that United are not have the strongest squad in the Premier league. Hence, they are expected to spend money and strengthen it over the summer. Moyes has said that he definitely has money to spend in order to make United as the best team in the world.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has said that the England national team needs a manager like Sir Alex Ferguson in order to achieve success. England have been devoid of success in winning the World Cup in 1966.

They have seen several managers come and go during this period. Carrick reckons that this constant changing of managers is probably the reason for England not achieving success at major tournaments. In recent decades, England have failed to progress past the quarter-final stage of a major tournament.

FERGIE HAILS EVANS

The manager of Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson, has hailed Jonny Evans for his impressive performance in the ongoing season so far and has hinted that Evans might be given the opportunity to captain the Manchester United side in future.

Evans has been given starting opportunities in 14 Premier League matches and 4 Champions League matches in the ongoing season so far and he has been quite impressive in those matches.

Because of his consistent performances in the ongoing season, his contract was extended for the next 4 years last month.

DE JONG LOOKING FORWARD

The midfielder of AC Milan, Nigel De Jong, has said that he is eagerly waiting for his team’s upcoming match against Juventus which is going to be played on Sunday.

Juventus is currently at the top of the Serie A points table with 32 points in 14 matches. On the other hand, AC Milan hasn’t performed that well in the league so far. Milan has played 14 matches in the ongoing Serie A League so far and has managed to win only five of them. Milan has lost 6 matches and the rest three games have ended in the form of draws. Milan currently has only 18 points.

The spending power of the Premier league clubs has been always on the up. It is a case this time around as well after the clubs in the Premier league have spent close to £ 400 million, which is a feature that could rise to about £ 500 million considering that there is still one more day left in the transfer window.

SANTOS WANTS TITLE
