West Ham United youngster Ravel Morrison has been looking in sparkling form in recent months for the club. He has become a changed man after the loan spell at Birmingham city last season.
He came from Manchester United with the reputation as a bad boy, but even Sir Alex Ferguson said that he is the best talent he has ever seen at this age. This is quite high praise from the manager, who has won more than 40 trophies with Manchester United in the last 25 years. Yet, Morrison was unable to overcome his disciplinary problems and stay at United.
The loan move to Birmingham last season, though, brought out the best out of the player. He was one of the best players for West Ham in the Capital One Cup match against Cheltenham on Tuesday night. Defender James Tomkins reckons that Morrison can become one of the best players in England if he gets his head right. He thinks that it is a case with the 20-year-old right now and he is on the steps towards a bright future. Tomkins has also revealed that Morrison continuously nutmegs him during training, and he is delighted to see opposition defenders also getting the same treatment.
“He’s only 20. He can only get better really. He’s a great talent. e’s gone away to Birmingham and matured a lot as a player and a person and we can all see that. He’s nutmegged me about a hundred times, so I’m getting used to it. But you’ve got to go easy on him in training,” said Tomkins in a recent interview. West Ham managed a 2-1 victory in the match and have progressed into the third round of the competition. Morrison was named man of the match after his brilliant performance, and he will be hoping to start his league match for West Ham.
