Louis van Gaal admitted that Manchester United are relying heavily upon Arsenal to help them finish in the top four.
The Red Devils managed to move within a point of Manchester City after a 1-0 win over Norwich City. Juan Mata scored the only goal of the game to help United closer to the top four places. Manchester City do have a game in hand, but it is probably one of their toughest matches remaining in the season. A visit to face Arsenal at the Emirates stadium awaits City and this match could potentially see United close the gap.
Since United and City have played the same number of matches now, anymore dropped points from Manchester City can be taken advantage of by United. In the past, Arsenal have been the biggest nemesis for United but the Red Devils will be relying upon the gunners for a top four finish. The future of manager Louis Van Gaal also depends heavily on this game. If United managed to qualify for the Champions League next season, it will be seen as a successful campaign in many regards. As United have also reached the FA Cup final, Van Gaal’s 2015-16 campaign will certainly feel good especially given that a number of youngsters have been promoted from the ranks.
