Football expert Andy Mitten has said that Manchester United should consider the sale of midfielder Paul Pogba, given he does not represent with the right attitude. The Red Devils only managed a sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season and much of the blame was put on Pogba despite the fact that he was the club’s top-scorer.
“United worked really hard to get him, he was going to be the central focus of the team and it was on that promise that they got him. He was complicit in United’s failing last season. If he had any pride, then he’d help get them back to the great team that they once were. He was the top goalscorer last season but it’s just his inconsistency. His attitude doesn’t help Manchester United.”
Pogba has been heavily touted to make the switch to Real Madrid this summer after previously declining their advances more than three years ago. Personally, Pogba has admitted that he would prefer a fresh challenge and the same has been mentioned by agent Mino Raiola, who has stated that everyone within United are aware of the midfielder’s desire to move on.
As such, it appears a no-brainer to sanction the midfielder’s sale, though United are set to demand the right price. The Mancunian giants have apparently turned down a player-plus-cash approach from Los Blancos and reports suggest that they want a sum of around £150m for the former Juventus man. Pogba is currently with the squad for their pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East.
