Ahead of the crunch match with Arsenal, under pressure manager David Moyes has stated that he will not change from his philosophy. The manager has come under intense pressure after his side dropped yet more points in the league.
The 2-2 draw with Fulham means that United must win against Arsenal in order to have any hope of finishing in the top four. They already trail Liverpool, who occupy the final spot, by nine points, which is in itself a huge advantage to reduce in the remaining 13 matches of the season.
Arsenal will come into the encounter looking to overcome the disappointment of the 5-1 defeat against Liverpool. Hence, they will be fired up in order to get a result in front of their home fans.
For Moyes, this much at least helps him play away from Old Trafford, which has not been his happiest stomping ground. Moyes said that the team showed against Fulham that they have the capability to create lots of chances, but the critics will point out to the fact that they could not beat a club in the bottom of the table. If you think they can do it then you should place your sports bet now!
United created a record by crossing the ball 81 times during the course of the match, but they are left stonefaced after Darren Bent scored a 94th minute equaliser.
“We played well and in any other game would have scored many a goal. Everyone keeps telling me about the stats and the opportunities we had. We had plenty of chances to win the game. Football does that sometimes and we’ve got to try and make sure it doesn’t happen too often. There have been a few twists this season; hopefully we’ll get them our way in the future. You just continue doing the right things,” said Moyes ahead of the Arsenal match.
